The combination of Microcrystalline Cellulose and Lactose Monohydrate has long been the gold standard co-processed excipient system in pharmaceutical direct compression. SANCEL® MCC with Lactose Monohydrate takes this proven synergy further — delivering a co-processed material with outstanding flowability, superior compactibility, excellent content uniformity, and a highly efficient direct compression process that saves your team time and money.
SANCEL® MCC with Lactose Monohydrate is a co-processed excipient manufactured by intimately combining Microcrystalline Cellulose with Lactose Monohydrate using a proprietary co-processing technique. Unlike a simple physical blend, co-processing creates unique particle structures with properties that neither component exhibits individually. The combination leverages MCC’s plastic deformation (for compactibility) and Lactose’s brittle fracture (for flowability and dissolution), producing a synergistic material that outperforms either component used alone.
Co-processing creates particles with ideal morphology for DC — superior to physical blends of MCC and Lactose.
Lactose component significantly enhances powder flow, reducing capping and sticking on high-speed tablet presses.
The co-processed structure ensures API distributes evenly throughout the powder blend, critical for low-dose APIs.
Lactose’s rapid solubility complements MCC’s disintegration, promoting fast API dissolution.
Single-excipient addition replaces separate MCC and Lactose additions, simplifying batch records and QC.

With nearly five decades of manufacturing experience since 1976, cGMP-certified production facilities, and a track record serving 1,000+ customers across 192 cities and 20+ countries — including 75+ USFDA-accredited facilities — NB Entrepreneurs delivers SANCEL® MCC with Lactose Monohydrate that meets the strictest pharmacopoeial standards. Our 18,000 MT/year MCC capacity ensures reliable bulk supply with 99.4% perfect order rate. Every batch ships with a full Certificate of Analysis, MSDS, and technical data sheet. Our dedicated technical team supports grade selection, formulation compatibility, and regulatory documentation — making us far more than just a supplier.
The amount of lactose in any single tablet formulation using this excipient is generally very small and, for most patients, would not trigger symptoms. However, for explicitly lactose-free formulations, we recommend SANCEL® Silicified MCC or standard SANCEL® MCC grades instead.
Co-processing creates an intimate particle-level interaction that produces properties impossible to achieve by blending. The co-processed product shows superior flowability, more consistent compressibility, better content uniformity, and more reproducible batch-to-batch performance compared to an equivalent physical blend.
